What's up with the Walmart credit cards, are any of them good? Let's review.
The Wal-Mart store credit card can be used on eligible purchases at Walmart locations. It is issued through GE Money Bank (same issuer of the Gap and Old Navy store cards).
What are some of the perks of getting a store card from Walmart? Here are a few the company features on their application web site:
- "Special financing" for twelve (12) months for orders greater than $299 US.
- Discounts at eligible and participating Walmart gas stations.
- No annual fee for this card
The APR for the Walmart Discover card ranges from 13.90% to 22.90%... that's pretty high in my opinion. The APR for the Walmart regular credit card is 22.90%.
I'm generally iffy on store credit cards, but hey, if you always pay your balance in full each month and never accrue interest anyway... then why not swoop up the occasional discount at the gas station using this card? There's no annual fee, after all.
