Consumerism Commentary posted a scanned in image of a Bank of America credit card statement, post CARD Act.
The statement is similar to the other ones I have seen online, with the addition of a nice box called "Account Summary" which tells you the total fees and interest charged by the bank during this particular statement period. I find this very helpful -- it takes the mystery out of whether your credit card agreement is still beneficial to you, or if you are just forking over "easy profits" to the bank each month. (In which case you should definitely pay off the entire balance, as soon as humanly possible.)
I found this scanned in statement so intriguing because it has been years since I last received a paper monthly statement in the mail. I always have those sent by email, and I don't normally check them since I am checking my new purchases every day or two with online account access anyway -- the PDF statement is kind of superfluous, although it is a nice additional record to have for tax reasons... if you regularly use your card to buy advertising or services for your small business, this is a definite must-keep document.
Another reason I have abandoned paper statements in favor of digital: why kill more trees? I killed enough in my days at the university to last a lifetime, I would suspect!
