There are a lot of new savings account promotions out there, designed to get savers to open up an account and start depositing on a regular basis!
My favorite promotion at the moment is the ING Direct Orange Savings Account $25 or $50 bonus, which I write about here.
When you surf around for a high yield online savings account to stash away some of your money, always look for the best possible promotion or bonus. Additionally, look for the highest interest rate... Interest rates are pretty awful right now, but you can find a comparatively good rate.
Make sure the bank has FDIC insurance and an easy to use web site. Beyond that, chase the highest rate, that's what I do! Other good banks to check out include HSBC Direct, Dollar Savings Direct, and FNBO Direct.
