Looking for the best credit card offers in California, specifically, or for California residents?
Obviously, many people nowadays apply for credit cards online, and so it doesn't really matter what state you live in -- most major credit card brands are offered nationwide in some form.
But if you're looking to apply in-person at a bank near you, here are some of the best places to look for credit card offers in the state of California. These banks have wide branch presence in the state, which is why they might be good issuers to check out.
Bank of the West - Numerous rewards credit cards, including a Platinum Rewards MasterCard. Other services offered by this bank include an impressive 1.25% APY online savings account (competitive with many online-only banks, such as ING Direct).
Bank of America - Bank of America has the best credit card offers, at least in my opinion, followed closely by Chase. Look into the BankAmericard Cash Rewards Visa Signature card at your local branch in California. (You'll earn 3% cash back on categories such as gas, grocery, and drug store purchases during the first 6 months).
Citibank - Numerous branch locations in California and many good credit card offers, if not the absolute best terms. Also, many 7-11 locations in California have Citibank branded ATMs, which is a nice added benefit. If you're a college student or looking to build credit, check out their entry level Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa card, or Citi Platinum Select card. Both are good and have good promotional intro periods in my opinion.
